Learn from Nature

Nature is everything that exist in the world, consisting of all things in our sorrounding such as environment and ecosystem. Nature is something that we can't live without. We can learn anything  from nature. Nature has been teaching us many this starting from something that we realize, as well as something that we don't realize.

We can learn from nature by getting involved in nature. We also can learn from nature by being closer to our sorrounding. From the sky, we can take the moon for example. The moon teaches us that we have to keep shining brightly even if in our darkest times. The next component is clouds. Cloud teaches us that we have to be a shelter for everyone in order to protect the others. We also can learn from the wind. We have to be calm like wind.

In the forest, we can find tree and leaf. The tree is very useful and important for us. Tree produces oxygen for our life. Tree teaches us to be useful to everyone. On the tree we can find leaf. From the leaf we can learn how to share what we have to the people who live in straitened circumstances.

The next place is ocean. The thing we can learn comes from its wave. Wave analogized as the obstacles we have to deal on. We have to get through the ups and downs that are emerge unexpectedly in our life.

But what have the humans done to the nature as retribution? Some peoples only give the nature disasters. They destruct, contaminate, and exploited the environment. As example, the humans obtain the wood from trees for their self importance. This causes habitat loss and threatens the survival of numerous species of animals and plants. The next example is human need air conditioner to cool down their self in summer. Have you ever thought that AC causes ozone layer depletion? Also, AC requires a lot of electricity.

What can we do to save our nature? We can start by doing small actions because usually small actions are easy to be applied and they are very influence. We can start by going to school or work by public transportation or even bicycle (if our school or work place is near), reducing the use of plastic bags, unplug unused electricity appliances, and also shortening our shower by just a minute. After all, let's love the nature and let the nature loves us back.

2017 Holiday

Hello fellas! It's good to see you again. On this opportunity I'd like to tell you about my holidays for the past two weeks. Well, I'm not really satisfied because I think last holiday was really shoooooort.

I spent my time mostly at home. In the first week of holiday, I really had nothing to do. I woke up - ate - did the chores - watching k-drama/k-shows - playing games - ate - go back to sleep again and so forth. When I felt so bored, I ate. I really ate so much until I gained two kilograms! :(

After long time stayed at home nothing to do. Finally! In the second week, my mother started to take me somewhere. We went to several malls in Bandung. But then I felt bored again because I have visited the malls very often.

In the end of the holiday, I went to my aunt wedding party in Tangerang. Me and my family went from home after the dawn. It took 2,5 hours to get there. When we got there, there's only a few peoples that had come because the solemnization started at 8 am. We were early by one hour. After my aunt and my uncle had been legitimate as husband and wife, they hold the wedding party. There's so many food such as chicken satay, fish and chips, teriyaki, lasagna, sweet fried beef, etc.

After the wedding, me and my family decided to go to the mall. We chose to go there because my aunt said that there's many food to choose there. I bought green tea soft ice cream, sushi, okonomiyaki, fried chicken, etc.

From the mall, we went to a furniture appliances and home accessories store in Alam Sutera. That was my second visit. I went there because the store held sale for selected items and I wanted to buy floor lamp for my bedroom. But when I got there, the lamp that I'd like to buy has been out of stock. Then I decided to stroll around the building. I was mesmerized by the items.

At about 6 pm we decided to go home. The sky has been already dark. Moreover I had to prepare because the next day was my first day of school. We got home in the midnight.

I think that's enough. I wish in the next holiday I go to the place I've never visited with my family.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, Gujarat, India. His father served as a chief minister in Porbandar and other states in western India. His mother was a deeply religious woman who fasted regularly. Gandhi grew up worshiping the Hindu god Vishnu and following Jainism, a morally rigorous ancient Indian religion that espoused non-violence, fasting, meditation and vegetarianism.

Young Gandhi was a shy, unremarkable student who was so timid displayed no signs of leadership. In May 1883, aged 13, He married Kasturba, a girl who also aged 13. He was very truthful from his boyhood days. Eighteen-year-old Gandhi sailed for London, England, in 1888 to study law. He worked as a barrister in England but he didn't do well.

After completing his study in England, he went to South Africa. Gandhi was struck by the level of racial discrimination and injustice. He decided to be a political activist in order to change the dicriminatory rules. Then, Gandhi form a nonviolence movement. During this time, thousand of Indians, including Gandhi, were jailed.

After spending 21 years in South Africa, Gandhi returned to India in 1915. He secured his place as the president of Indian National Congress. While fighting against the British rule in India, he always maintained his principles of truthfulness, peace and non-violence. In 1942, he launched the ‘
Quit India Movement’ to drive the British out of the country. It was at this time he became known as Mahatma, which means great soul.

The movement didn’t prove to be an immediate success, the British had to grant independence to India in 1947. India splited into two countries, India and Pakistan, but Gandhi oppossed this idea.  He was a Hindu but he believed that every religion has the same right to live together peacefully in a country.

This great son of India was shot dead on January 30, 1948. The assassin who killed him thought that Gandhi was taking sides against Islam. He has already dead, but he will live forever in our heart for what he has done for the world peace.

“Live as if you’ll die tomorrow. Learn as if you’ll live forever.”

My Unforgettable Experience

Hello folks!

I'd like to tell you about my unforgettable experience. It was happened a long time ago. Me, my mom, and my sister went for a walk. After that, suddenly we felt hungry. So my mother decided to go to a restaurant. That was my 2nd visit to the restaurant. The restaurant was very cozy and the food tasted really good.

The restaurant served western and Indonesian menu. Then, I decided to order sirloin steak and chocolate milk shake. I felt so bored. So while I waited the food came, I enjoyed the Wi-fi. Suddenly the waiter came and served the food for us. The food looked very delicious.

I cut the big piece of  steak and ate it. But I couldn't chew it because the meat was tough. The day before, I also happened to check my braces to a dentist. That made my condition even worse. Then I decided to swallow up the meat after I chewed it a few time.

Unfortunately, the meat stucked on my throat. I couldn't speak and breathe. Foolishly, I drank the milkshake and the milkshake came out from my nose because my throat was closed by the tough meat. (that was disgusting though). I panicked and asked for my mom to help with hand gesture. I still couldn't breathe. My mom asked me to vomit out the steak. And finally the steak come out from my throat. Yeay!

I catched my breath and expressed my gratitude to God. But after that I still enjoy the food because the food was very tasty. That was very terrible accident, even the day after the incident, I felt like the meat still stucked in my throat.

I was so panicked back then, I thought that was my last day. I'm glad I could handle it. So, I have a message for you. Chew your food properly until it become soft before you swallow it. I hope this experience do not happen to you!

Bye, see you next post!

Last week, there was a big event called Megantara. Megantara is an cultural event held by SMAN 3 Bandung. This event is held anually. Before Megantara, the event's name were Matswapati (2014) and Gamarvani (2015) The event held in Bali Field on September 2016.

The event started at 11.30 a.m. But as a non committee, I had to join the parade. The parade started from Bali Field at 7 a.m. The girls had to wear kebaya and samping. The boys had to wear pangsi (Sundanese traditional costume for men). We had to walk quite far. It was really tiring but it was also really fun because there were kindergarten students who wore cute costume joined our parade.

After the parade ended, I went to SMAN 3 to change my clothes into the casual one. But, I and my friends didn't know what to do so we decided to go to eat before we went to Megantara. Then we went back again to Bali Field.

Then, I entered the gate of Megantara. I went inside and got checked by the committee. Then, I went to a brown tunnel which has hand print along the tunnel. It's look like abris sous roche.

After that, I saw many food stalls and food trucks. The food stalls were separated into five section represented five big island in Indonesia that are Sumatera, Jawa, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua. But sadly I didn't have the chance to eat the food in the event because  I had been eaten before I went to the event. But I tasted my friends' food called Nasi Gorilla rendang flavour and it tasted incredible! Despite the food stalls, there was also haunted house performed by SMAN 12 Bandung. There were also face paint stalls and cultural stalls.

When I just entered the event, there were a performance by Darul Hikam. After that, Bali dance, Band 3, LSS, KPA3, vocal groups, and MK3 showed up their amazing talents! Then, I watched a fashion show participated by 34 students from class X who represented each 34 province of Indonesia. They were wearing the traditional costume. My friends Amanda, Tika, and Sylva became the models of the fashion show. It was really fun to watch.

Sadly I don't really remember what coming up next after the fashion show. However, I remember in 6 p.m. T'sT performed their cabaret. It was about the movie Suicide Squad. They were really cool and funny. In 8 p.m.The Changcuters was on the stage. Their performance was very energetic and they succeed in making us jump. The final performance was RAN. They were also very incredible. They invited one of the girl who came to this event to go up to the stage. RAN sang the girl a song. What a lucky girl! After that the event ended.

The event was very spectacular, I hope next year I will come to the Cultural Festive by SMAN 3 Bandung again.
